This area will eventually develop into the home of the pages which will document Filby's progress towards building and using our new community centre.
Our initial efforts to win lottery funding were unsuccessful nevertheless we have decided to press ahead and continue to raise money for this project.
Filby currently has two locations where meetings and events can take place:
- The Clubroom, Main Road
- The Church Hall, Church Lane
The Clubroom, an interesting building in its own right, was given to the village as a meeting place but is too small to accommodate events which attract a lot of people over a short period of time. The Clubroom will be an integral part of the new village hall and continue to be a key part of village activity.
You can go to Clubroom to see more.
The Church Hall, built in the 1930s, is large enough for many events the village may wish to put on. It has a stage and provides a flexible space for a wide variety of uses. It is, however, at a time in its existance where it needs a great deal of money spending on it if it is to have continued use into the future.
